As the newest member of the OrthoConnecticut Coastal Orthopedics team, Dr. Piekarska is a highly-skilled orthopedic foot and ankle specialist with expertise in both operative and non-operative treatment of the lower extremity. Dr. Piekarska is committed to providing the best operative and non-operative care for her patients so that they can get back to their daily routine.
Dr. Piekarska completed her training at the West Virginia University Wheeling Hospital Foot and Ankle Advanced Surgical Fellowship where she further subspecialized in trauma, reconstruction, and revision surgery. Prior to this, she was Chief Resident at Yale University School of Medicine/Yale New Haven Hospital in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery with an added credential in Reconstructive Rearfoot and Ankle surgery. During her final year of training, she was the sole recipient of the Gary P. Jolly Academic Achievement Award for outstanding scholarship and academic excellence, the highest honor for graduating residents.
Dr. Piekarska provides treatment for a wide variety of lower extremity conditions including flatfoot and cavus foot deformity, arthritides, sports injuries, tendon/ligament trauma, heel pain, neuromas, nerve entrapment, hammertoes, and bunions. In addition, she is highly skilled in ankle arthroscopy, ultrasound-guided procedures, and revisions surgery. She has a special interest and expertise in trauma and has presented nationally on Lisfranc and pilon injuries.

Born in Poland, Dr. Piekarska can conduct appointments in Polish. A Connecticut native, Dr. Piekarska attended Quinnipiac University for her undergraduate degree majoring in Biomedical Science with a minor in Chemistry, graduating with honors. She is an avid reader, hiker, pizza-lover and enjoys spending time with friends, family and her German Shepherd, Arya. Dr. Piekarska is a board-certified member of the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery, as well as an active member of the American College of Foot & Ankle Surgeons.
